What can I tell my parents to convince them to let me get a hamster?

ask to baby sit one of your friends hamster if they have one.

parents are just worried that you wont clean your hamsters cage regularly just try to convinse them that you can be responstible!!

Tell them your responsable and that hamsters are small clean pets thet clean themselves and they don't smell as long as u clean out their cage once a week. And they are not a very expensive pet to have and to keep :) Good luck

the best way to convince parents to get you a pet is to actually take responsibility instead of just saying you will, do something for yourself, start doing your own laundry or paying for your own clothes, something like that

My parents were the same way! I hung little pictures of hamsters all over the house until they decided to cut a deal with me. I had to keep my room clean for two months so I could get a hamster. Try making a deal like that with them. Just reassure them that you will clean the cage often so it won't stink and you'll take good care of it. Also look up a lot of hamster information and reel it off to them to show that you really know your stuff about hamsters.

well, do what they say, keep you room clean, do things as your told, but i would recommend a guinea pig. They are bigger so they are easier to hold, they LOVE being held and they are NOT nocturnal. im getting one soon!

Guess what? I'm getting a hamster in September and this is what i did for my parents to say yes;

1. RESEARCH!

2. write articles and facts about hamsters and leave pictures.

3. show them cute hamster videos on youtube.

4. go look them up in the library to show them how much you like hamsters.

5. you can write about each thing on a page like I wrote 7 pages each one was about a different thing like one for feeding, one for grooming, you know what I mean.

6. tell them everything you did and ask them.

Just try to let them know that you will be responsible and take good care of it.....keep it very clean, well fed, water changed regularly, etc.  Good luck!!!
