What can I use an old refridgerator for?

Question

My fridge died but we have a back up and are using it now.

Looking for ideas on what people do with old fridges around the house?

Was thinking of stripping it to a bare carcass and filling it with dirt to grow pototatoes or something in it.

Wondering if anybody had any other suggestions

A fishtank.... replace the door with glass and cut the top off so now you have a very cool tank...

Or use it as a bath

Or use it to grow herbs etc

Or use it for parties... put it on its side and fill with ice and beer etc

Or use it to survive a nuclear explosion like in indian jones (hahah ok so that may not work but hey if Indi can do it...)

If you have a boat and like fishing I'd suggest you strip it down and use it as an ice box to keep your catch of fish in, they make an extremely good ice box! Have a great day!

You can use it as an esky :) Someone already said that though..

Just take out all the electrical things..

paint it up and use it as a cuboard in a room but make it look nice.

if your into drinking, you can spray paint it with a cool colour and you tip it on its back, pull all the insides out and use it as a big esky for party's or gatherings, put some ice and drinks in it and there you go!

i have seen an old fridge being used as a worm farm! place on its back on top of bricks. place a few more bricks inside, around the edges, put the wire racks over bricks so there is a 10 to 15cm gap from bottom.oh, make sure big hole drilled in bottom with a grate.put worms in, then put your food scraps in daily along with newspaper and grass clippings. no citrus, onion, garlic, coffee or tea. pour a bucket of water over, and catch water draining out of hole in the bottom of fridge. this liquid is the best fertilizer you can get. good luck, altho i like the idea of the pond too.and remember to remove all door jambs and locks etc

They make a good fishpond. just rember if you leave the door on for other uses, to remove the locking points or make gaps in the door seals so that it can be easily opened if a child climbs ito it
