Found a recipe that I want to use tonight...only thing is, I don't have coconut milk and no time to buy any. What can I use as a substitute?

  1. A coconut liqueur may also suffice as a nice substitute if you want to go in that direction.

  2. I agree with sirima.  Heavy cream is a good substitute, however the taste will be very different.  There is nothing like coconut milk.

  3. It depends on what you are using it for? In a pinch, regular milk works sometimes.

  4. You can use full cream milkor heavy cream.

  5. For one cup coconut milk substitute 3 tablespoons coconut cream with low-fat milk to equal 1 cup or use 1 cup whole milk plus 1 teaspoon coconut flavoring.
