What can I use as a humidifier for my plants?

I have two bonsai trees that I love very much. Well we moved and my humidifier went missing...

Its pretty hot in the room their in....could I just use a pan filled with water?

  1. I would get a plastic tray and fill it with small stone.  Place water in the tray, but be sure your plants are not sitting in the water...will die if standing in water constantly.


  2. Use an old spray bottle from hairspray, for example. Wash it out well. Fill it with water and spritz the plants. Even a damp towel hung over a chair will contribute humidity to the air.

  3. That will work, sand or pebbles, rocks, etc will help when you add water. Just make sure your water levels stay high if you want high humidity. You could put the plants in the bathroom too, bathrooms are more humid.
