What can I use for a broken tooth untill I can go to the Dentist?

My husband broke his tooth.

some drug stores have emergency dental kits. you can use dental wax too(like for braces. He can also go to the ER and the docs there can help him with a temp fix.

put the broken tooth in milk.

The pharmacy has a temporary filling material he can put in the hole to keep the air out of it until he sees the dentist. I can't remember off of the top of my head what it is called but the pharmacist will know.
