  1. find an oatmeal-based shampoo. (aveeno might have one...sold at any drug store) that soothes the itching and tenderness of the area affected by eczema. i would try talking to a licensed hair dresser that could look at your baby girl's hair and tell you exactly what she needs as far as the brittle-ness of her hair is concerned. how often are you washing her hair? for african-american people that does not have eczema is usually not supposed to wash their hair more than 2 times a week. our hair is course and it soaks up moisture. washing her hair more than that might be drying out the scalp, which is causing the eczema to worsen. talk to a stylist. that would be your best bet if your doctor isn't giving you the answers you need. if the hair dresser can't help you, then you should have her hair cut short so that you can deal with the eczema, more than concentrating on the condition of her hair. i hope everything works out. im sorry your little one has to experience such pain!
