I'm want to prepare a new recipe for Cool Caribbean Pumpkin Soup that says to "serve with a dollop of Mango Chutney". I'd like to use something a little more ordinary.

  1. You could use Apricot preserves or Apricot Jam (if you add a tiny bit of cayenne pepper and lemon zest to the chutney, it gives it some really good zing that contrasts the soup). Another option is to use a tiny bit of sour cream or ranch dressing dip (I know, sounds weird, but is really good with vegetable/squash type soups).

Another option is to use regular chutney (not mango), but that seems too obvious and I think you've already thought of that.

This is making me hungry. ;o)

  2. Grated green apples seasoned with salt, little pepper and some vinegar, yummy..bd

  3. any fruit chutney would work
