What can I use instead of a saucer for a plastic flower pot?

I have flower pots on my deck. I need to buy saucers for them. clay saucers are expensive and I could not find any plastic saucers in home depot or lowes. I found some plastic saucers online.

But they sell only in a lot of 25. I don't need that many. I saw some on ebay. but I can't feel the quality of that product online.

Can anybody tell me what can I use as a substitute for a planter saucer. First thing that came to my mind is the cake box cover. But I don't know where I cna get those.

all answers are welcome and thanks in advance to all of those who answer

  1. Lowes and other home stores sell clear plastic trays that fit different size plants pots. They are extremely inexpensive and being clear, don't detract from the plant and pot. If your pots are mostly clay, you could also just set them on old, folded face towels. You can then water the towels and the water will be sucked up into the roots.

  2. How about plastic bowls? you can get all colors, patterns. You can get them at $ stores. Pie tins work too. Go to flea markets and house sales to get some good deals. Good Luck.
