What can I use the usb port for on my Motorola dct6416?

I've got a Motorola dct6416. Unfortunately, the cable co. didn't give me a manual. I'm wondering what I can do with the usb port on the front of the box. I understand that I can buy a cable to move data from the DVR to my computer, but are there any other applications? I'm especially curious about using the DVR as a capturing device for taking video from video games, dvds, etc. Can I hook up other devices to the DVR to record their output? Perhaps I can use a flash drive? I'm sorry for the multiple questions, I'm just fishing a bit. Thanks for any input.

well a flash drive might work. as far as the data transfer cable i'm not sure that would work or not.one problem that might come up is you might possibly need some kind of software loaded on to your computer to get it to run right.I don't know if this helps or if you have already thought of the software possibility but it's something to think about.
