What can I use to clean my camping tent?

I have had my tent put away for a couple of years and I set it up this morning and it has a bad smell in it. It is a made of nylon I guess. It is waterproof. What can I use to clean it?

I throw my waterproof tent in the washer with detergent and borax to kill odors on the delicate cycle.  REI sells a bottle of waterproofing solution that you add in the rinse water that really works.  I throw mine in the dryer on delicate to dry it.  Works every time.

I would just set it into the sun for a few hours. The sun will kill bad odors.
