Question:

What can I use to kill my roommate's plants?

My roommate's untended plants are totally causing all kind of bug problems both outside and in my house. Don't try to talk me out of it, I'm on a mission....I don't know much about plants, but I know outside we have tomatoes (which are being left to rot.....why plant tomatoes if you're not going to eat them?) and a few big leafy things planted around the patio that have big white stripes on the leaves (and bugs all over them, which my cats keep trying to eat.) Also, there are some potted ones on the porch--two of them look like cactus plants, but they're kind of puffy, and then there's one that's hanging from the eaves and has dead red flowers.

I don't want to use anything potentially dangerous to humans or animals---just to plants....

  1. I bet if you directed that energy into making those plants healthy...  you might have a better relationship with your roommate.  If nothing else, you would have some great tasting tomatoes and a great looking yard!

  2. Pee in a cup and pour it in her plants. After a couple of times doing this, they'll die. I did it to a neighbor once and it worked really well.

    LOL

  3. pull them all out and trashem  UR EVIL BUT ME LIKEY...

  4. I am a serious plant lover but won't grow houseplants because of the bugs.  Toss them in the trash.  If you would rather not be so drastic, salt, bleach, you'll find something.  The rotted tomatoes are going to attract other insects, like flies and mosquitoes.  Tell her to do something about them or you will.

  5. just get weed killer and spray/pour it in the soil

  6. bleach animals smeel it they wont get in it

  7. Why not go online and find natural insecticide recipes.  Throw out the rotten tomatoes, place sand over the soil of all pots, (keeps bugs who live in the soil from getting out.)  Get those plants healthy and they won't be a problem.  OR, buy the book "Crucial Conversations", increase your assertiveness skills, and have an honest discussions about how you matter too, and these plants are driving you crazy.

  8. If you really must kill them, you can use ammonia water or vinegar water.

  9. Pee's gonna stink up your house, don't do that!  Arrange all of the plants outside around the rotton tomatoes.  Tell her that when one displays a collection, everything is best displayed together, in order to create that cohesive, pulled-together look everyone aspires to when decorating.  That will either make her task of caring for them much easier, or perhaps she'll see the error of her ways.  I'm on the fence on this one, I have some plants that I'm really trying to nurse back to health.  It isn't always easy ...

  10. Pour boiling water, no smell at all..
