Question:

What can I use to make a second floor for my pet rats?

they live in a nicely sized bird cage, i have 2 of them.

i need something that i can use to make a second floor, as they have lots of unused space up top.

something homemade that i can do would be best.

i hear wood is bad for them or something?

  1. Silver, because you use it for peoples knees!!!!!

You can go to a local hardware store and by garage shelving to use as a floor and cut as you see fit.  You can also get hardware mesh, which a lot of the cages below use.  With any wire floors you choose, you should cover the floor with linoleum tile to keep your rats' feet from getting hurt.  It also makes it a lot easier to wipe up messes.

  4. omg im so glad ik how to answer this i used a bird cage for my rats and i had the same problem i had 3 rats though lol uhmm use a grill rack and you can use wire to hook it on the cage
