What can I use to replace buttons?

I'm trying to make a small ribbon bulletin board (life this: http://static.howstuffworks.com/gif/teen-bedroom-decorating-ideas-30x200.jpg ) for my locker

I don't have the right buttons for it, and I have to finish tonight

And going out and buying them isn't an option

So what can I use besides buttons for where the ribbons meet?

Thanks!!

 1. Bingo chips, old game pieces, push pins, thum tacks, coins, keys, charms, old jewelry pieces, metal or plastic bottle caps that you can decorate, clips, or little bows or rosettes made from the same or matching ribbon. Depends on what kind of look you want though you can always just use all different buttons and sizes and paint them if you don't like the colors.

 2. why not try using the small safety pins, if you have finger nail polish at home the same color as your using all you need to do is paint them and use a blow dryer to dry them in time to use them.hope this helped abit.

 3. Thumbtacks?
