  1. put a small bowl of baking soda in your wardrobe, tht should take the smell out - it works in the fridge anyway.

and for bad smells? Fabreeze!!!!! u can spray it on any material, and for the air then there's Oust - its an air freshener brand which "doesnt just cover up bad smells, it ousts them!"

  2. fire

  3. get a carpet clean you should be able to rent them from just about anywhere even walmart (i wouldnt suggest walmart though)

  4. Check out this resource, lots of helpful tips on how to maintain your area rug or carpet.

  5. 1) Get a dehumidifier to deal with the condensation & damp.

    2) Vent upstairs windows if able to allow air to flow through house.

    3) Hire a decent carpet shampooer to clean the carpet.

    4) Change to wood flooring.

    5) Use neutradol in your cupboards to get rid of smells.

  6. 1: Throw out all your moldy clothes and buy new stuff

2:Move out of the moldy house

3:Buy a dehumidifier for your new house therefore you won't have the condensation problem again

  7. Damp Rid makes a great mold and mildew killer and protectorate for fabrics that kills the spores so it won't grow back and the odor, too.  It doesn't have bleach in it so it won't damage the fibers of garments or carpets.  Sound like you are in Britain, though so I don't know if it is available there.  In the states, Lowe's home improvement centers carry it so maybe your home improvement centers will carry it, too.  While you are there, check to see whether they carry Damp Rid Moisture Collection crystals for the condensation problem.  They make a plastic container that collects moisture from the air with these crystals then you dump the water out of the container when it is full.

  8. The best think will be to wash it and carped too

  9. You have two problems, viz to ameliorate the effects of the damp, the smell and to sort out the cause of the dampness.

Washing the clothes and throwing out the carpet are obvious solutions to the first problem.

The other will take a little longer.  The first thing to do is to confirm that it is condensation and not penetrating or rising damp.   A damp meter will help, crudely if it is penetrating damp it will be localised and probably visible, if rising it will be general in sections of wall, but below 3ft/900mm.  It is probably better to get an expert to investigate and quote, you do not have to buy but you will get the scale of the problem.

If it is condensation you have to stop it, or remove it or both.  Extractor fans in kitchens, bathrooms, utility and cloakrooms are essential.  mixer taps (faucets, for the cousins) are essential.  Do your drying outside, or buy a condensing tumble-dryer.

Just putting scent on your carpet is not the way forward.

  10. you may need to pull up your carpets and replace all of it.  If you can scrub  them a couple of times with bleach solution.  This may help.  But who wants to ruin their carpets.

As far as your clothes go, wash them with a bleach alt.  and wash your drawers out, and then line them.  Place moth balls or cedar chips in as to rid of the smell.

If the mold is bad, you may need to replace everything.

I know you know, but it must be said: get a dehumidifier.

  11. Moving house is the best solution, failing that keep your windows open for as long as possible, steam clean your carpet, maybe some 1 has got  a steam cleaner u can borrow or u can rent 1, use zaflora disinfectant or whatever disinfectant u like the smell of (dilute some in a spray gun) in your washing machine, wipe your furniture down with it, also good for cleaning kitchen worktops bathrooms  and all paintwork. Always hang your clothes outside  to dry as they will soon smell inside. Buy a cheap canvass wardrobe n stop using the cupboards  that's mouldy. I don't think u will be able to get rid of the smell. just polish it n leave it open.

  12. use this for the carpet, it should work great:
