I've used Selsun Blue and Head and Shoulders which contain 1% selenium sulfide, in the shower but It leaves a bad odor. Is there anything else I can use or take orally to treat this and how long will it take?

  1. Its caused by an over growth of yeast so I would kill the yeast by doing a yeast cleanse that you can buy at a health food store in capsules. You could also use the monistat cream for yeast infections or use braggs apple cider vinegar ... personally I would soak some thick paper towels in the vinegar and then squeeze until just wet and then lay them on the affected areas and press the vinegar in to the spots and let the cloth sit. You can buy the vinegar at the healthfood store ( it has to be vinegar with mother in it)

Make sure you clean the tanning beds if you are tanning because that is more than likely where you got it since they basically just squish around the yeast most of the time. Women have vaginal yeast and then the sit on the beds and then when it isnt cleaned properly it gets on the next person that uses the bed.

After I got rid of mine I always cleaned my own tanning bed and never have had it since.
