Question:

What can I use to vacuum under my new couch?

I just got this new couch in my living room and it has a very small gap between the floor and the couch, about 3 inches. Keep in mind it's on carpet. This is way too small to fit my vacuum cleaner through to clean under it. It would be really inconvenient to move the couch every time I vacuum.

To make matters worse, I have two large dogs that shed like crazy.

Any suggestions on adapters or a vacuum I can buy to clean out everything that will collect under my couch?

I did find this one product:

  1. You need to move anything to vacium. What you can do is flip the couch gently up side down. And you can vacium underneath it.

  2. They have these long vacuum tools that are "skinny" enough to fit under small areas such as you have described.  They are handy and some can even be used to clear out the filter part of one's dryer.

  3. Try and buy a vacuum cleaner that has a detachable head, so that it becomes a long metal (or plastic) pole, then you can use that to hoover under your couch.

Also, you can prevent the amount of shed fur by brushing your dogs often.

  4. Some (and most, but mostly canisters) vacuums come with a flat tool made for wood floors that you can easily  put  under couches. If you don't have that, you MUST have a this tool. It look really flat and is taller at one end.  Anything smaller than what you need to clean is okay!
