What can I wear to look classy?

Black, white and cream (not necessarily together) are very classy colours. For accessories classic pieces such as pearls and a classic designer bag (purse) are very classy. But nothing too brash, understated is the key. You should also wear classic kind of clothes that don't show too much cleavage or are too short, that's not to say you have to look frumpy, but things such as lady like blouses and pencil skirts are very classy.

i agree, pearls and blacks are chic.

colors:

-if you're wearing all black, make sure they're the same shade - nothing faded/worn looking

-avoid bright (ie lime green, hot pink) colors

-neutrals and charcoal/black always look good

textures

-tweed

-wool

accessories

-limit accessories. one piece that stands out above the shoulder (ie.. don't go overboard in earrings + necklace, UNLESS the earrings are small and the necklace hangs lower). bracelets paired with earrings OR a necklace are ok, but one of them must be slim/nonimposing.

-if you're doing all black, or black/gray, accessories can be any color

-if you're doing black + neutral, accessories should also be "warm".. ie, no silver, UNLESS you're carrying a warm/neutral colored purse that has silver buckles/detailing

-shoes and purse should match

-none of that cheap plastic stuff .. the big plastic bracelets etc

-big sunglasses

for classy/casual

-dark wash jeans of heavy (not thin) denim paired and heels (but nothing extreme at the risk of looking like a stripper)

i'd say, rich jewel tones, some pastels and neutral colors.

i thin gold jewelry looks classier than silver. not really bright accessories but simple pendant necklaces and such.

a nice nice (faux preferably) patent tote adds class to an outfit.

that and a good pair of flats :)
