I dislike Jackson and Jaxon and I'm not too keen on Jacob. I love the name Jack but I'd like it to be short for something. Jonathan??

  1. Then just name him jack. How about this: The full name could be Jack Black. Probablem solved. And Ryne is the best name ever. After Ryne Sanburg. Greatest 2nd baseman of all time. but im Colin instead so its cool.

  2. Jack is short for Jackin, an alternate form of Jankin, a English diminutive form of John, the English form of a Hebrew name, Yohanan, Johanan, or Yochanan. Originally it meant “The Lord Has Favored,” “Gift of God,” or “God is Good.

    -or-

Jack is sometimes thought of as an English form of Jacques, the French form of Jacob, the English form of a Hebrew name meaning “Supplanter.”

  3. Not sure what it would be short for but if I have a boy, we have decided to call him Jack. Not having it short for anything, just JACK. I love the name Jonathan too but my partner doesn't

  4. Jackman

    Jacklin

Not to sure on that 1

  5. It can be short for John, or Johnathan. I think it would be really cute if you did that.
