  1. The responses above are great and i want to thank you all. I was having the same issue and my mom wont get off my back but now that i see these answers i dont have to be afraid to persue anthropology.

  2. I'm having the exact same problem. Plus, isn't there a limited geographical area in which you can be employed? As in, you usually need to live by a university, as opposed to the country?

Besides the traditional four major branches (cultural, linguistics, archaeology, biological) anthropologists are often employed in anything needing people skills and some understanding of human behavior. It can really boost teaching, medical, and marketing majors. A lot of anthropology gives positive skills to use in any career path.

Sometimes, non-scientific employers will put out a job ad specifically for anthropologists, just because they need someone with those skills. If you take it as a minor, then something like teaching or nursing or whatever as your major, you will improve your "employability". Also, taking that route means you won't have to worry about getting your master's or a PhD, just a plain ol' bachelor's.

    Good Luck! :-)

  3. The business world is changing and it is finally starting to see that companies need experts in all many different fields as advisors. Companies need to know all aspects of their products, how they can used, thought about (image), changed. If you have interest in psychology then evolutionary psychology might be a good job for the future but anything related to the medical world is a good bet.   Good Luck.

  4. wel you can do forensic anthropology, or even pathology. they are govenment emplyment, so you get a stable job, and also it's very rewarding. but you will have to take xtra courses and extra years to do that, which a lot of people dont want to do.

  5. You can continue on and perhaps come across a great find, like bones , fossils, creatures that we know nothing about. You know what that means, your about too be paid, and paid hansomly.
