Question:

What can an average student do in this situation...?

Well, I am a very conscientious Italian student and as usual, I see that my school has overlooked its Italian program since it isn't as "demanding" and taken a greater liking toward the Spanish program. Now, I understand the reasoning for this, because obviously, there are more students, but give me a break. I mean, they're program basically gets whatever they desire whenever they're teachers make an inquiry. Meanwhile, my teacher asks for something and there is never a response.

Here's the thing: We are using textbooks that six years old, while the Spanish program basically has a new textbook every year. I recently asked if there was a newer textbook out there and the response was "Yes, but we can't get it."

I find that complete bs, considering the amount of money my district rakes in yearly in taxes and I am simply wondering, what can I do to make a difference?

All input and suggestions are appreciated.

  1. try rallying ur classmates to make some money and purchasing ur own new textbooks. set up a table at lunch and sell or hand out italian treats to get the rest of the student body interested. make a big deal about the italian class to incoming freshman so that tey want to take it.

    good luck!
