What can be changed instead of energy drinks?

I am not drinking them, but one person I know does, so I need to give him an advice, because I know energy drinks are harmful for kidneys, heart and stomach. He wakes up, does some sport (~1h), then takes a shower and eats breakfast. Later at ~ midday, he feels, he is tired and only energy drinks help him. What should be changed instead of energy drinks to more healthier thing?

  1. eat a healthy balanced diet including lots of oily fish, green leafy veggies and meet. fruits also have lots of energy potential. whole wheat bread with canned fish and salad doesn't have to sound gross! oh, and drink lots of water! sleep is often a plus!ha ha there is no substitute. not eating will mess you up!

  2. 5 hour engery shot

  3. Okay he should be taking his vitamins for sure. He needs a B vitamin and CoQ10 is also a known energy booster. He should also be eating energy boosting foods like fish and nuts. Nuts are a great midday snack and may help increase his energy levels. He should also be making sure he is taking in enough protein. If he is working out or playing sports he needs to feed his muscles or they'll start fading.

Also not all energy drinks are made equal. I myself am a college soccer player and the only energy drink that I trust to give me an added boost on a soccer day is FRS. It is healthier than the other energy drinks because it is loaded with vitamins, and antioxidants and also because it has less sugar and caffeine than regular energy drinks, making it a healthy option for athletes. I got started with it through a free trial which I got here http://www.voernix.com/2008/07/frs.html

  4. I would drink "medically / scientifically proven" product that has life time guaranteed. That has been published in medical journal. (Not some one else's study, but their own). NOW< try to find a company actually does this.

  5. Energy drinks are mostly caffeine & sugar...neither of which are good for you on a long-term basis and don't last long for "energy." Fruit smoothies made with fresh fruit, fruit juices and yogurt would be a great replacement for something quick to drink on-the-go and would actually taste better than most energy drinks! The natural source of vitamins, minerals and "natural sugars" from the fruit will provide a better source of energy that will metabolize better in the body, last longer and won't cause your friend to crash later from a lack of caffeine and sugar boots like the energy drinks do. Having snacks on hand for grazing such as fresh fruit, granola bars, nuts, raisins, etc. and eating a good breakfast are all good sources of providing a lasting effect of energy throughout the day without having to rely on energy drinks.

  6. he probably gets tired because his body is use to the energy drinks

  7. have him try a kiddy cocktail and drink water

  8. I'm not sure however do not recommend coffee since a 6 oz cup of coffee has way more caffeine than say a 16 oz of a monster energy drink.

  9. energy drinks just make him think that he is more energized when really it isnt doing much at all.

  10. They do not work, its just clever marketing! I mean do you really believe the lucozade makes you go 33% longer! Tell your friend that he is a bit gulible.

  11. maybe energy bars they taste bad but they help

  12. umm... i would say coffee or something really sour because that always helps me

  14. Coffee maybe?

  15. hello- water for sure?

  16. yoga???  lol

  17. tell him to stop drinking energy drinks

  18. Tell him to start smoking meth!

  19. Coffee? maybe try natural energy drinks.

  20. Drink something like grape juice and add a crushed caffeine pill (you can buy them at a grocery store.)

The juice gives you long-term energy and the caffeine pill gives you short term-energy!
