What can be done about a company that loads the truckdrivers' trucks too heavily?

It is possible that they are breaking the law. How can this be reported so that at least it can be investigated. The company is in Maine and operates throughout the Northeast and mid-atlantic and utlitizes Class B operators. The company punishes the drivers if they refuse to drive their route if they think it is too heavy. They are punished by receiving a week's suspension with no pay. Is their a way to have this investigated?

  1. There must be some legal agency that monitors the trucking industry.  They do have weigh stations along the interstates.  It's a safety issue.

    How about searching for the insurers who are liable for accidents?  

    Follow the money trail.
