What can be done about cats marking their territory?

I have 2 male cats in my home, both fixed (though the one still has his testicles for WHATEVER reason). One cat is mine, while the other was dumped on me by my room mate who's staying in another town until God-knows-when. My cat is a dominant cat, and he is much larger, heavier, older and more aggressive than the other cat. They fight constantly, which annoys me to h**l and back, but lately I've encountered a bigger problem. They're having a pee-war throughout my house.

There are three litter boxes, so I KNOW they're not peeing because there isn't fresh litter. They pee on towels, on my clothes, inside my hamper, on the furniture, and most recently: on my bed.

What can I do about this, aside from getting rid of the second cat? I can't deal with this anymore.

  1. If there's stress among the two the likely probability that both could have urinary disorders or urinary infections.  It would be helpful to first rule out medical before approaching behavioral.  If they both have an infection then this will be resolved with antibiotics.  If it's behavioral there are anti-depressants that have been successfully used to control urination anxiety.
