There is a Church that is having "service" in a different location weekly. The deceptive flyer was hung in the lobby of my apartment complex. None of us tenants knew they were gong to take over our building for an entire day & have an open-door free for all with food & music. We have ex cons & strangers roaming about the hallways & disturbing our peace.

What can be done about such things as this?

The Police said if we had no names, then they could do nothing. The Manager is an ex con who is abusing her position. We are a building of seniors & disabled people who don't want a bunch of foul mouthed people in our locked & private facility.

I fear this church is a front for ex cons to hang out.

This is in California...any ideas on where we should start to make sure this "church" goes elsewhere or disbands completely? The ex con manager rented to many ex cons on parole & suddenly our lives have turned upside down. None of us can use the lobby, but strangers suddenly can?

  1. as long as no laws are being broken there is nothing you or anyone else can do.

  2. If they are disturbing the peace call the police. contact your local police station to find out cut off times for residential parties and general  hours to go by for calling to report noise. you just cant judge people by their looks or tattoo's or hair cuts. just because you are in fear doesnt mean they are breaking the law or doing anything wrong, after all this is a church group right. thats what churches are for, to bring people into astate of change and change doesn't come overnight. those people are probably in the middle of a life changing experience and you are mocking them! live and let live.

  3. This sounds like Victory Outreach, which is a legitimate church and many former convicts and gang members join because of the church's forgiving nature.

You can call the police when they are being disruptive. Also, you can take it up with the management company or owner of the building and go over the manager.

There is a Victory Outreach in my neighborhood and, like any other organization, there are those who truly are there to change and change other and then there are those who are there for outer appearances and a place to just hang.
