Both over the age of 18. definitely one-sided. can be shown through saved text messages between both person's phone numbers.

Is this an act of verbal harassment? Can charges be pressed?

Can charges also be pressed against someone verbally threatening in public? If so, what conclutions can come from this civil lawsuit?

  1. Yes you can press charges definitely if it is through phone. It is filed as a threat, but it is also considered a form of harassment. Through phone or mail threats are the most serious. I wouldn't expect money but they can give a restraining order and also force this person to stop contacting you.

  2. If you believe the person is able to carry out the threats and you have some fear, then call the police and have them take care of it.  Continue to save the texts you receive.

  3. In this case, yes it is against the law for anyone to harass another person and send them death threats.  Make sure you save the text messages and notify the police right away.  If you know the name and address of this person it would also help.  The police should then arrest this person and charge them with some form of harassment or another charge.  He would have to answer to them and possibly appear in court and/or face jail time.

  4. take the phone to the police station and file a report and then the police will advise you what to do next

  5. Firstly, change your number.

If they get your new one do not reply.

If someone is verbally threatening in public there will be offences committed under the Public Order Act 1986. (and others if you want to dig deeper)

  6. There can be a grand jury investigation to subpoena the service provider and start looking into who and why this person is sending these text messages.  If it is an interstate threat that would be a federal case.  It is definitely harassment.  It is a criminal case for sure.  Civil, that's a tough one, perhaps this person doesn't have two nickles to rub together.

  7. Report it to your carrier... could be considered a federal crime since they're using the airwaves to commit this crime...

  8. punch them in the face or drop kick them in the head

seriously though thats horrible you should look up to filing charges that is definitly agaisnt the law

  9. contact your phone company. WHat they are doing is against the law and your phone company can trace the call and provide the information to the police.
