With more and more people moving here and wanting to surf, spots are becoming very dense with crowds.

  1. just buy a bunch of big inflatable plastic sharks

the beach will be all yours

  2. Well, as much as some people want to, you can't always fight the crowds. Just estimate the times that are least crowded and go from there. That's how I plan vacations.

  3. Nothing..as the surf culture expands (and it will continue to do so) each surf spot will gain visibility which will lead to crowds. But the crowds are not necessarily a bad thing. Living in Hawaii I have done several things to make sure I still get my fair share of decent waves:

    1. Go looking for the empty ones. Plenty still out there...not your popular ones but they are there. Get in the car and go for a drive and look. That is how I found the spots I surf at now that at most have two other people out.

    2. Go to a popular beginner spot. If you are more experienced than most people out there, no matter the crowds, and you know the surf spot, you can manuever and get more waves since most of the other people out there do not know what they are doing. Don't be a d**k, but take advantage of your knowledge and skill and be at the right spot everytime. You tend not to notice the crowds when you are scoring one good wave after another.

    3. Make friends with the locals. Knowing some good local guys expanded my wave arsenal ten fold. THey know the spots, the best times, etc. Be polite and be respectful and you can get a long way.

By doing these things I have overcome the reality of paddling out at Diamond Head and getting frustrated by one hundred other people out there.

  4. Nothing.

You just have to put up with it like anything else.

Everybody whats to surf too, not just you.  Either go out to the breaks earlier, or later. Just don't drop in on anybody, that could hurt. And I don't mean running into each other, but later on the beach. Good luck bra!

  5. id go early (if u dont already) but im srry luv no ones owns land they can surf as they want even if u rather them not but just keep looking maybe u can find a more sudue beach good luck luv.

  6. There is always un-ridden surf in Hawaii.

But I do tend to hit more the outer reefs now days just so it isn't as crowded.

Change your times that you go.

But I do agree with that statement of yours. I've been doing this for almost 40 years and I watch every spot get crowded out. Even when I surf at moonlight. I get crowded out now.
