  1. the fastest continuous trains i would have to say would be the Virgin Trains that leave Kings Cross St. Pancras everyday.  they go to most of the big cities in the UK and when i took it to Edinburgh, it was constantly going above 125 MPH, which, in return, got us to Edinburgh quite a few minutes ahead of schedule

  3. Eurostars on the High Speed line in Kent do 186mph. Currently the HSL runs from Dartford to Folkestone, but the new Tunnel into Central London will open next year. In the meantime Vauxhall station is the best place to see them as they approach Waterloo.

    For fast trains on Normal lines try the lines out of Paddington and Kings Cross both do upto 125mph
