My boyfriend and I plan to wed next year and soon after start a family, my only problem is... i've only had my period once this year. and that was back in March. It saddens me because an aunt of mine is unable to have kids because she has premature eggs. (sorry to say) Im terrified i will end up like her. I dream to have children lots of them in the future and it will only break my heart if i will not be able to bear at least one. Im 22 yrs old and dont really stress off anything. I do know that since ive started my mens at age 12 its always been irregular. I remember not having it for 3 months when i first started. anyways, last year i had my period more frequent than most my years. at least 5 or 6 times. and that was during the time that i was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. Its funny tho, because my thyroid is up and down. im pretty sure it may be a factor to this problem of mine, but could it be something else? Please somebody help. I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow about this and would appreciate if i can get some suggestions on what to ask?? im afraid they will tell me that i have nothing to worry about and that im still young (22). but my fiance and I want to make sure that everything is all good so that whatever problem i may have can be fixed. I DO NOT FEEL PAIN just occasional small minor cramps due to ovulation (or so i think). I take pregnancy test every month just to make sure im not pregnant and of course it turns out negative. I've had a physical along with a pap smear back in Feb. which turned out normal.

I LOVE CHILDREN and dream about my own future babies...

just hoping everything will be ok...

  1. Talk to you dr about getting on birth control. It will regulate your periods and make it more easier for you to have children in the long run.

  2. Yes, something else could be going on like another hormone imbalance called Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (an example only).  As for other things to ask about ask them about if they think there could be another hormone problem could be going on.

And ask if you can have your hormone levels tested such as for FSH (one of the hormones our body makes).

If the doctor does say this is nothing to worry about then I would recommend getting another opinion, preferably from someone that does not share the same office of the doctor you go to currently, to see what they say.

  3. could be a cyst. could be pregnant
