I am 16 weeks. I know it is early. I just worry about this if I don't feel anything. Could my baby be dead? Could it be paralyzed?

  1. Relax.  You'll start feeling the baby kicking (bubbly feeling) at 5 mons then start feeling the kicks later like 6 or 7 mons.  When baby is not kicking it's because she/he is sleeping or just still but they will kick more the bigger you get.  Just eat healthy and go to the doc and you should be fine.

  2. At 16 weeks is very normal.

This is the most likely explanation other than the baby is sleeping:

He/she is kicking towards your back. You are not going to feel those.

Also, if you have a placenta in the front (anterior placenta) - you may not feel kicks until later because they are being cushioned.

I started feeling my son at 18 weeks and didn't feel him daily until 20 weeks. Now at 23 weeks some days he's very active and some days he is pretty quiet.

  3. At 16 weeks nothing is wrong with not feeling your baby move.  Please don't worry.

In a couple of months you can start worrying about movement then, but it is normal not to feel the first kicks until around 20 weeks and then regular kicks from about a month or more after that.

  4. I wouldn't worry about not feeling any kicks yet, it's still early days.  I didn't feel mine move or kick until I was about 20 weeks.  If you are concerned go to your doctor and ask if you can listen to the heartbeat for reassurance.

  5. you might just not be able to feel the kicks yet, give it a couple more weeks, like around 20-23 weeks, if you dont feel anything, let your doctor know. i didnt feel any kicks during my first pregnancy until i was around 23 weeks, and my baby still wasnt as active, and shes perfectly fine!

  6. Noo..  16weeks is so early..  Some women have noted feeling movement that early but I haven't w/ either of my babies...  You don't even start normal kick counts till 27 weeks (usually)...  I honestly didn't feel regular movement with this pregnancy till 30weeks..  It scared the c**p out of me!

  7. Don't worry I am sure that your baby is fine. It is still really early to fill the baby move very much. Worrying is not good for your baby either. Rest assure that your baby is fine and soon enough he will be keeping you up at night will all the kicking and moving around in there.

    Best of luck!

  8. You are still early to feel it.. don't worry..

I am also 16 week long and this is my second pregnancy.. still hv not felt those precious kicks.. may be few more weeks both of us wl feel it

enjoy your pregnancy.. No negative thoughts.. Okay..

  9. sleeping

  10. dont worry about it, it seems normal. i dont think i felt mine kick until i was around 18-20 weeks, and then sometimes it would be one or two movements a day, the day after constant moving, and towards the end you can actually see your belly being prodded from the inside lol

  11. 16 weeks is just too early to feel the baby kick consistently. You might feel something a little now and then or you might not feel it at all for another few weeks. I am pretty sure that you baby is fine. Since you are worried about it maybe you can go for a quick visit with your ob to listen to the heartbeat to ease your mind.

  12. 16 weeks is on the early side for a first-time mother to feel fetal movement.  I didn't feel it until about 20 weeks, but it can be as late as 22 weeks.  Usually, it's felt earlier with later pregnancies.  But, still, this is my 5th pregnancy, and I just felt the baby start moving a couple weeks ago at 18 weeks.  There is no reason to be worrying now, or for at least another 6 weeks, about not feeling fetal movement.  Oh, and when you do first feel it, it's going to be rather fluttery and subtle, not a forceful kick.

  13. A lot of people don't feel their baby kick this early.  You could be over 20 weeks pregnant before you feel the baby kick, and even then they may be very faint kicks.  At 16 weeks it isn't anything to worry about.  I know how you feel, though, because I worried about this too, and I even rented a fetal doplar so that I could find the baby's heartbeat..LOL.  Trust me, before you know it those kicks will be keeping you up at night!  :-)

  14. Around 16 weeks it's still really early to feel definite movement, especially if it's your first baby. Generally, you'll feel distinguished fetal movement closer to 20 weeks.

If you're going to the doctor and there's a heartbeat don't worry. :)

  15. You have a few more weeks before you will notice those first "butterfly flutters."  Believe me, it won't be long before those flutters turn into real kicks, and the kicks become strong enough to dump a saucer of cheese and crackers from atop your tummy into the floor!  There were times I could have sworn my daughter had hooked her toes into my ribs and was swinging upside down.  Yeah yeah, I'm aware that's physically impossible .... but that's sure how it felt.

You have the most marvelous journey ahead of you!
