If you applied butter to your skis what damage could it do?

  1. I put pam on mine (only in late spring, when snow is crappy and all I do is groomers) .  It makes a way big difference in speed.  hasnt hurt them yet.


  2. I don't think any damage.  Just use some base cleaner to get it out.

  3. it will make the snow buttery. but seriously dont do it. get candle wax and iron it flat with no scraps comin out of it.

There's nothing wrong with that.  Pro skiiers use household lubricants all the time when they are in a pinch, like when they showed up late to a competition and forgot their wax kit.  Butter or margarine both will work very well to lubricate your skis.  Even more, butter allows for more flow between tricks on the snow.  Often these tricks are called "butters" just for this reason: the skis slide easily on the snow in directions other than the base grain.  

    havent you ever heard of a "nose butter" or a "tail butter"?
