What can cause an electric dryer to get the clothes caught between the drum and the cabinet?

my dryer gets clothes stuck between the drum and the cabinet- anybody have any idea what causes this and how I can fix it?

  1. something fell out of alignment and caused a spacing that allows the clothes to get caught. Is this an old unit??
