I have a '98 SeaDoo GTX LTD with 130 hp and recently was running about 50mph when it fell on it's face. Couldn't run over 5 mph. Shut it off, turned it on and it ran fine the rest of the day. Took it in to get serviced and they said it had water in the engine, probably from bad gas. Is there any other way water can get in the cylinders?

  1. blown head gasket.

    did ya buy marina gas?

  2. Rolling over and sucking water.

    Blown head gasket.

    Cracked block.

  3. Water gets into the engine via the cooling system. Did you roll the ski over? They need to be turned back over correctly so water in the exhaust doesn't drain into the cylinders.

If yours got water via fuel as the shop states, it can come from the fuel source (supplier or storage tank or can), or it can enter via the fuel cap, or possibly (but unlikely) a bad tank vent check valve.
