i have a bed with a flat wooden frame, its an ikea bed, the malm series, and it slides from time to time and that helps when i'm cleaning but not when i get up too quick or jump on the bed and it slides a whole foot. any suggestions, something that wouldn't affect the height of the bed considering its a flat frame without actual legs?

  1. I have hardwood in my living room and I keep an area rug under my futon to keep it from sliding.

  2. If you like IKEA stuffs, you can have a carpet underneath your bed or get a rubber pad (they sell this in IKEA too) that can be glued to your bed frame legs.

  3. glue very thin pieces of rubber on the bottom.

  4. You need stop slides... Here is a link to a page with a description.

You may find them cheaper, but at least you will have an idea what you need

  5. maybe you could get some thin pieces of rubber (like a bike tire tube) and cut them to fit under the frame to create some friction between the bed and the floor?  Other option would be to s***w in a 2x2 to the floor right behind the frame to keep it from sliding around.  It would make a small hole in your floor, but hey, it's under the bed and you'll never see it.

  6. This may sound off the wall but I would bolt the bed to the wall. It would be a more permanent fix than gluing something to the bottom of the bed.

  7. Find some of that rubbery stuff you can use for kitchen cabinet and drawer liners.  It is also sold to put under rugs so they won't slip.  I see rolls of the stuff at the dollar store a lot being sold as place mats and drawer liners.
