  1. i would say victorian but i know it took her an hr to put it on and she was from europe, she married a Tsar, just look on the web i just did but its to long to read, it tells you all about it Happy new year

  2. I just checked my copy of Nicholas and Alexandra by Robert K. Massie. It says that her dress was white, a "heavy,old-fashioned Russian court-dress of silver brocade, and a robe and train of cloth of gold, lined with ermine."

You simply need to go to a library and get a book on costume history and look up the types of clothing people wore in the late 1800s.You can also go to

http://www.metmusem.org  click on curatorial departments, then click on Costume Institute.

And at http://www.alexanerpalace.org  you can click on the link" Nicholas and Alexandra" under the "A List of our Online History  Websites" to find a portrait of the wedding couple.

You may even want to see if you could buy a copy of an old book called "In the Russian Style" maybe from Amazon.com and the like.

  3. I would love to answer your question, but it doesn't make sense.  A can is a cylindrical holder, like a Coke can, or a trash can.  It has nothing to do with a wedding dress.  I did enjoy reading your comments about the Empress.

  4. If you go to www.alexanderpalace.org, there is a beautiful picture of her on her wedding day.  She wore a long gold cloak trimmed with ermine, very beautiful.  I think you will enjoy the sight.  Thank you for educating those of us who didn't know.
