What can happen... he got caught w/marijuana??

got caught w/an ounce of weed. He has been in jail before 10 years ago for drug charges. what happens next??!! Should he get a lawyer ?? how long will he be in jail for ????

What happens depends on the state. Very difficult to predict how long he will go to jail if convicted but it is likely he will get some time if it was an oz. and he's had drug charges before. He should definitely get a lawyer.

He'll be given the opportunity for a court appointed attorney.  He'd be wise to get one.  They are free, and in his case, as good as any.

It depends where. If its in Canada then its likely a small fine. However i think the US, is more strict.

If he is not on parole or probation they may let him out "Time Served" or they may put him on probation. It depends. A lawyer would be good.
