  1. You get a negative rating from the seller.  If you try to bid on someone else's item, they may block you because of your negative.  I personally don't accept bids from people who have too many negs or people who have a low rating.  I block them.  If you're reported to eBay too many times, eBay will cancel your account.

Other than that, you might get some emails from the seller but that's probably all.

  2. When you placed your bid, you entered into a contract to buy the item.  You're breaking a legal contract by refusing to complete the purchase.  When you placed your bid, that information was explained to you on the "Confirm bid" page.  Didn't read it?  Tough cookies.

The seller will file the item as unpaid, you'll get an unpaid item strike, and you'll probably find that you're blocked from bidding on some items.  If you get more than one unpaid item strike, you might as well just give up on eBay because it will be pretty much impossible to buy anything.

  3. What you need to do is email the seller and tell them some that an emergency came up and You can no longer purchase the item. Ask the seller for a Mutual agreement to withdraw from the purchase..this way, they cannot come back on you.. If you dont pay, they will send a unpaid item notice and all that c**p and it can essentially hurt your rating on ebay or close your account.  So if you communicate, maybe you can get away with it by asking if you can pay like 2.00 to help with listing fees, but that is all you have due to your circumstances.

It works.  I would rather have some one offer to pay me, with good reason, then to constantly ignore constant request for payment.  I never make anyone pay, nor do I have to pay, we complete the mutual agreement and they get their fees back.

I understand stuff like this, some do not.  But if YOU make the first move, then it's better for YOU!

  4. You will get a bad rating from the seller.

  5. They most likely won't send it until payment is received, if they do anyway they are stupid. So they will re-post it if payment isn't received in a certain amount of time.

  6. Just ask the seller to file a mutual withdrawal. The seller will get his fees back, which is all he would want anyway.  This explains a mutual withdrawal:

It will be fine - just ask your seller.
