  1. It has to run it's course just like a cold or the flu.  But you can treat the symptoms with Tums, or any anti acid, a hot water bottle or heating pad, for the stomach pains or cramps, and Imodium for diarrhea.  A nice hot bath helps make you feel a little better too.  Keep hydrated, drink lots of fluids, but tea is not recommended unless it is herbal tea, or decaffeinated tea.  Caffeine drinks can cause further dehydration.  Just eat very light, like jello, broth, chicken noodle soup, sherbet, and toast, to name a few things.  You have to keep your body nourished so it can fight your illness.  Rest, stay on the couch and watch tv, and stay away from others until you are over it...


  2. Stomach flu can be cured by many things:

    Diet control being one of the main factors that can help your stomach flu, try to stick to just clear liquids (7-Up, Ginger Ale, Broth, Water, or Kool-Aid). Solid foods should be avoided, so try to eat more oatmeal and grits.

    You can also receive some OTC medications from a medical facility or your local Wal-Greens (Pepto Bismol, Mylaanta, etc.)

I just got over the stomach flu  yesterday, your best bet is to find a comfortable position where your head is propped up and not flat like an armrest on a coach or something, this way you wont feel nausea when your stomach is churning trying to release all the acids and gas in your system. Your gonna feel really tired the whole time .

    When you fell like throwing up, just do it.. it might seem scary to force yourself but trust me when its done your gonna feel so much better. Drink plenty of fluids like Gatorade, water, clear liquids you can see through, tea as well.

    And finally  you have to eat something. i know you don't feel like eating anything but you have to, i would suggest some unsweetened  crackers, saltines or even a slice of plain white bread to soak up a good amount of the discomfort. Oh and one last thing. when you go to bed for the night have a glass of water or something clear (not orange juice, too much acid for you) next to so that when you do get up in the middle of the night, you dont have to stand up, for a whooping headache..

  6. Drink lots of water, keep drinking it.  There is no cure, but if you go in with the first sign of symptoms they can give you a shot that lessens the effects of the flu!
