  1. parsley and Rosemary

  2. Honey is a natural antibiotic anti microbal

  3. The best thing I have tried is grapefruit seed extract.  Make sure it's grapefruit, not grape.  I buy it at Whole foods.  Google it online and you will find a ton of info. on how great it is for any type of bacterial infection.  It has worked great for me.  Good luck.

  4. For internal use, drink oregano tea (oregano is a very good natural antibiotic) and take a 1/5 course of echinacea to give your immune system a boost.....

But this all depends on the kind of infection you're concerned about...

fruits & veggies + basically all the foods that contain antioxidant properties act as an antibiotic in the body,

red coloured fruits, hops, grape seed extract, grape fruit extract, peppermint, sage, lemons/lims..........etc....

    Good Luck.

  5. If the infection is topical (such as infected cuts, pimples, etc) or in the throat/mouth area (tonsilitis, cold sore, cuts) you can put tea tree oil directly on it. Don't take tea tree internally (its ok if you accidently swallow a little when its on your throat, but don't start drinking it.)

If the infection is internal, echinacea, cranberry, and onions can help.

  6. Never heard of garlic healing an infection.  Antibiotics, if it's an infection.  If it's viral, patience, while it works itself out. You need a medical evaluation to get the proper treatment.

  7. External, on the outside of you; or internal, on inside?

Aloe is great for the outside; break it open and put the

    gel on.

Inside, onions do the same as garlic; echinacea and

goldenseal for short-term immune boost; and cranberry

juice, 100% juice, for bladder infection.

If your infection stays, please do see the doctor.

  8. We really need a bit more info before anyone can truly recommend good antibiotic/antimicrobial oils or herbs to you since it really depends on the location and type of infection.

However, some general info may help:

Note: If you have an infection, please get solid medical advice before self-medicating with herbs. Just because it's 'natural' does NOT mean it's safe :)

    First some definitions:

Antibacterial destroys or stops the growth of bacteria

Antibiotic destroys or stops the growth of microorganisms in the body

Antiseptic Preventing sepsis, decay, putrefaction; also, an agent that kills germs, microbes.

Antifungal destroys or stops the growth of fungi, such as athlete’s foot

Antimicrobial - An agent that inhibits the growth or multiplication of microorganisms, or kills them.

Antiviral inhibits or eliminates a virus

Herbs provide a natural defense against bacteria, even those that have developed resistance to antibiotic drugs. Moreover, an increased use of herbal antibiotics can go a long way in restricting indiscriminate use of antibiotic drugs, thus ensuring that the drugs will still be effective when we really need them. For example, aloe, Garlic and Grapefruit seed extract are very effective in defending the body from Staphylococcus aureus, E. coli and salmonella. Other herbs that have proven antibiotic effects include Goldenseal Myrrh, Usnea and arctostaphylos uva-ursi.
