What can i bring on a flight!!!!!?

Question

im going to cali its a 6 hour flight . i want to bring my laptop.

but what can i bring and what cant i bring on carry on and what cant i bring and what can i bring on luggage.?

i put in a clear bag my shampoo comb straightener soap lipstick makeup lotion razors qtips and etc in a clear bag thats going in my suitcase is that good?

you can normally take your laptop in your hand luggage, it may just have to be taken out of it's case when you go through security and this can be time consuming.  Make sure the battery is fully charged first because you cannot plug it in. Unless you have to take your laptop for work or something, it's only 6 hours so it's probably just easier to listen to music, have a sleep or read a book.

You can check most things through in your luggage as long as they are not explosive or weapons (check them out on your airline's website).  You don't have to put your liquids in a clear bag if you are checking them in as luggage but it does pay to have them in a bag in case they leak.  

For your hand luggage - Anything smearable (so all liquids and creams) have to be in bottles/containers less than 100ml or 3.4oz.  I believe you are allowed 10 of these, so your liquids do not exceed 1 litre.  Don't try and get your full water bottle through security, it won't work.  Often you can buy water etc in the shops past security.  Also nail scissors, nail clippers, pocket knives or anything sharp may be confiscated out of your hand luggage.
