  1. um, how about.. lunetas... or how about... uh... moonlas... lol best i can think of :D

  2. They are people called the "Moonites" they mainly live in South America... .

  3. Mani was the Norse Moon deity... so they could be Maniacs.

Or the Sumerian equivalent was Nanna... so they could be Nanites.

The Phrygian Moon deity was Men... so they could be Menstral.

And Akkadian mythology identifies Sin as the Moon deity... so they'd be Sinners.

  4. this is a great question, here is my suggestion, moonies

  5. Based on theoretical constructions of Proto-Indo-European, how about the "Menotites?"  The forms the basis of roots like "mens," "mes," etc., which are used in other Indo-European languages for "month" and "menstruation" (women are on a 28 day or so menstrual cycle, one used for many calendars).  Optional suffixes could be "-i," rendering the aforementioned example "Menoti," or something to that effect.  You can even add an "-a," "-y," or "-s," which are common plural suffixes in Indo-European languages("Menota," "Menoty," "Menots").  I'm thinking you should take the word for "moon" from now extinct languages.  Here are some more roots to fool around with:

    Tocharian: "mañ, meñe"

    Avestan: mâh

    Bactrian: mao

    Proto-Indo-Iranian: masa,

    Old Persian: māha

    Gothic: Mēna

    To name a few :)

  6. "Looney". Why else would they worsip the moon?

  7. Since the moon is Luna, they would be lunatics.  You can call them loonies, too.

Actually, you can call them anything you want.  There doesn't have to be a close relationship between the name and the moon.

  8. I assume this is for some sort of story you are writing?  No pagan I know actually worships the moon, they simply acknowledge the moon as a symbol of the Great Goddess.

You can make up a word, such as "moonite" or give the moon a actual name and call them something like "Lunites" (using Luna as the name of the moon), etc.

  9. Lunites, or Selenites (Selene was the Greek goddess of the moon).

  10. Just call them people... and leave it at that
