What can i do about my nightmare neighbours

I moved in 3 months ago and i get on great with all the other people on the street but some people moved in next door and at 1st they were ok now the problem is there 4 children keep jumoing over our frnce to get there ball i have said dont jump over my fence its not your garden if your ball comes over knock on my door and i will get it for you but if im out wait and at 8pm i will not answer the door you will have to wait intill tomorrow for your ball.But all we have got back is them knocking on our door in the day for there ball which is fine and i give it back but if we are out or its after 8pm and after them kicking my door in i want answer because its my rule no knocking my door after 8pm they will go in my garden and get it out and when my partner says no get out of my garden wait till tomorrow there father infront of all his 4 children threatens my partner and says ill smash your f---ing face in he has done this twice and the last time the guy next door said to my partner if he sees him in our back,front garden or even in the street he will smash his face in now we have called the police both times and all they say is we cant do anthing intill he actully hits someone.Please can someone give me some advice.

I have to small children who are 3 and 1 and the refuse to go in the garden because they think hes going to hurt them i try and explain but they dont understand.

Also i have asked about tresspassing and ive been told by the police i can not do anyhting about it unless they have the intent to steal???

Next time it happens, call the police and tell them your neighbor is making terroristic threats and you want them there right now. They have to come, and hopefully arrest the bully next door.Tell them you think he has a gun. Watch what happens

Get a Taser and  let him have it. they have already threatened you, no warning,just let them have it,the next time they come to your door.

Check with the local authorities, police, chamber of commerce, or any office that may have rules and regulations for where you live.

I had a similar problem with a renter, I'm in a rural area and was sure he was on something illegal.  Long story short I talked to the sheriffs office and they told me to put up a criminal no trespass sign and let them know it was for them.  Where I am and following their advice I have the right to stop them from coming to my door with any and all means including killing them.  Now I don't want to kill anyone and the other neighbors ended up running them off.

You might check into posting your property with a sign and sending a registered letter to them.  This is really a last resort kind of solution but some people just can't past their anger.

Just keep calling the police. Eventually someone will get tired of it--either the neighbor or the police and it will end.
