  1. *track-star * - bring your own (or borrow from a friend) portable DVD player and some of your favorite movies (in case you don't like the movie shown).  Bring your cd player, MP3 player or iPod loaded with all your favorite songs.  Bring a book.  Do you like to draw?  Bring a sketch pad.  Do you play the piano?   My youngest son has a 'roll-up' piano keyboard that he takes with him when he travels.  He bought it at a toystore last year for $15.  It sounds really good but it has a spot to attach headphones so he can play it and only he can hear it.

You could also bring some 'travel' games.  These are specifically designed so the pieces don't move unless you move them (because of the motion of cars/buses, etc.)  Check out your local large department store (like WalMart).

    Have a fun trip.

  2. If you don't want to talk to your friends and be social, (who does for 10 hours straight), I'd suggest a combination between previous answers: mp3 and book.

Download an audio book, put it on your mp3-player and there you go.

If you also have any handheld video games you can play it while listening to the book. (something like Mario or any game where you don't have to read dialogue because then it's easy to lose focus on the book)

  3. I'd have to agree with the others - bring a CD player (or MP3/iPod) with your favorite music, a few travel games, a book, a few magazines, your diary (if you keep one), etc.

Talk to your friends and take a few pictures too while on board and once you get to your final destination, of course - why not?

    Enjoy your long trip!

  4. MUSIC!!!!  That's always a big one for me.  It's easy to put on your favorite band and stare out the window.  Other then that maybe a book, magazines, or games.
