Sometimes I'm even paid a small fee for doing someones name on some carboard that I'd make or draw a boarder for something to put a company or business, store etc's name on it in my script, gothic, calligraphy & so`forth.rRr..

  6. Go to the library and get a book on pottery.  There should be a section in there on coil pottery.  Then go to the arts and crafts store and get a block of clay.  The kind that can be air dried -- that way you don't need a kiln.

Make sure the clay is soft before you buy it.  It should give to pressure.  When you get it home, or before you use it, you should break it off in sections and need it -- just as you would need bread.  Then decide what you want to make, work from a picture or a drawing.  In coil pottery, you simply break off a piece of clay and roll it into a long "snake."  What you will be eventually doing is stacking each coil on top of the other and pinching them together all the way around the pottery.  You can make the piece as big or small as you want.  I would start out small until you get the hang of it.

When you are finished put it some place out of the way so it can dry to a hard finish.  After it is half way dry, sign your name on the bottom.

I have created everything from Christmas Tree ornaments to 2 ft by 2 ft vase.  One word of caution though, after your piece is dry, don't expose it to water.  It will be hard and will last forever but if it is exposed to water, it will convert to it original state -- mud.

    Good luck and have fun..

  8. Buy 2 big peices of polar fleece, one solid color and one pattern that matches. Then cut the sides into strips and tie them together. It makes a really nice blanket. You can keep it or give it to a friend. My friend gave one to me for my b-day and its AWESOME! i luv it!

You could also get a book about how to make Friendship bracelets. I think its made by Klutz. its really cheap and it includes embroidery floss.
