Im flyin with Cathay Pacific from London Heathrow to Brisbane, Australia. My flight stops in Hong Kong for about 7 hours (maybe less, depending on immigration). So just wanted to know what i could do whilst i wait for my flight to Brisbane. Also does anyone know if my bags will be transfered from the Heathrow to Hong Kong flight to the Hong Kong flight to Brisbane or would i have to collect my bags then check in again?

  1. Yes, your bags will be forwarded all the way through to Brisbane and you'll also receive your boarding pass to Brisbane in London. Unless you leave the airport, you do not  not need to clear immigration in Hong Kong, only clear security when you transfer from the arrivals to the departure area. You will have time to go into HK if you want, there is an airport express train that will take you right into Central, near the harbour on HK Island that takes about 25 minutes, which I would recommend doing. Otherwise, the Hong Kong Airport is one the largest and best airports in the world and has great shopping, all kinds of restaurants and places to eat, pay lounges if you want to relax, internet and the type of things most good airports have. good luck.

  2. Buy a whole swiss cheese and a salmon from one of those posh airport delicatessens. Break each up into small pieces and hide all over the airport - behind radiators, under chair cusions and above the loose ceiling tiles in the loos. Come back next year and smell the difference.

  3. there is a kfc restaurant on the 1st floor i think...so dont eat anything during the flight ;)

oh and there is free wireless lan internet acces...so bring your laptop =)
