  1. I would say turkey works on thanksgiving

  2. Warm milk....Meditation....Jogging.....Hot Bath.....A shot of Tequilla

  3. Eating some dried cherries (rich in melatonin) an hour before bedtime is supposed to help.

  4. do you have the tv on? If so then the light from it can trick your brain into thinking it's day. If you need something on, just try playing some music.

  5. Go to bed later!  If you aren't going asleep for hours your going to bed too early. Go to bed when your tired instead of a set time.

  6. About an hour or two before you think you want to go to bed, start turning off lights. Go down to just dim lighting to adjust your mind to bed time. Also try drinking some Chamomille tea. It may take you a while to get used to the taste (It did for me) but it does relax you.

Also don't go straight to bed from doing work, or working on the computer, that keeps your mind still busy. Give yourself wind down time before bed. Making your room a little colder also helps too.

  7. Chamomile tea an hour before bed sometimes helps calm the nervous system.

Soothing music- nature sounds etc can dull an over busy mind and allow sleep

meditation, yoga, massage and all things that take care of the self and reduce stress are exceptional

stretching, slowly before climbing into bed helps some people

Melatonin is the chemical that your body naturally creates that enables sleep. maybe you should get your levels checked in case there is some physical reason for an imbalance.

  8. they say the Tryptophan in Turkey makes you sleepy, warm milk before bed , and melatonin.

also wouldn't hurt to exercise before bed.

  9. lower your amount of caffeine you drink each day and you will fall asleep within like 15-20 minutes and sleep like a baby. i had the exact same problem until i started drinking less caffeine each day.
