What can i do to be more proactive and organized at work?

  1. By being more "proactive," do you mean being better able to get results for your customers since you're a customer care agent?  If so, then I would suggest reviewing (perhaps by training manual?) what your authority level allows you to do for the customer in a given situation.  If you feel like you're not really able to help them, keep in mind that not every customer who calls is going to be demanding something reasonable -- this is true for almost every business.  You can always go to your superior for more advice on this issue -- say that you want to improve your effectiveness.

    In terms of being more organized, the first step would be to keep your desk/workstation neat and free of unsorted piles of papers.  Securely dispose of any documents you know you no longer need to keep on file or have extra copies of.  Get more file folders and labels to keep your current records organized.  See if you can digitize documents and store them on your computer or a USB drive -- using less paper is both better for the environment and for keeping things organized.  Also, don't keep much on your desk that isn't directly related to your work!

    Since you're only 22, you have plenty of time to learn and improve.  Keep at it, and good luck!
