Im a junior in highschool, and ive always wanted to be an actor. As ive grown older people have told me that i would make a good actor or comedian. Apperantly i might have what it takes.

Im great with accents, i have a good memory, i can impersonate people pretty well and Im a really good public speaker.

Ive always loved movies. How they can influence and move people, has always intrigued me.

To become an actor is my goal in life. But i don't have much experience in acting in plays or anything because i go to a hick *** school in the middle of nowhere where arts like that are unfortunatly looked down upon.

Im thinking of going to do some acting in collage and mabye go to an acting school after that.

But in the mean time is there anything like a specific skill that actors must possess to be succsessful?

  1. I'm almost like you, I'm good at accents and imprsonations, but I don't go to the greatest school, not the worst but not the greatest.

The first thing you need is passion, which I think you have

Also, you need the determination, you need to be able to go out there and do what it takes. You need to be outspoken and different. You need to show that you are different and that you can stand out of the crowd...

I'm in theatre and trust me when i say, you do need to be different.

Another thing is you need to speak clearly, we call it chewing your words carefully, enounciate

Some things to work on is these sayings that we use:

"She stood on the balcony, inexplicably, while mimicking him hiccuping while evocably welcoming him in"

"20 dwarves took turns doing handstands on the carpet" then repeat a few times on all of these...Shout these when you can, because that helps your clarity and speaking loudly so people can hear you...there are more but for now that's enough. Hope this helped and sorry this is long Good luck!

  2. it's good that you want to pursue acting in college.  if you want, you can start acting now by doing small roles.  try this site: hollywood-opportunities(dotcom)

  3. Audition...audition...audition.  There is no teacher greater than the act itself.

  4. Go to your local library and ask whether their is a local (within the county) theater.  If there is a local group that puts on plays, then audition.  When it comes to a craft like acting, experience is an exceptional teacher.  Also make an effort to watch a wide range of film, including independent and foreign films.  If you watch others who are considered the ultimate craftsman in the industry it can only help.

As far as skills, becoming confident with public performance is essential.  In that regard, seek out opportunities for public speech such as giving speeches/taking speech class or joining the debate club.

  5. submit your profile to the link below

  6. try having your parents (or you ) find an agent to sign you to diffrent things .... but before then try going to acting schools or maybe try out for a movie in a place near you! hope i helped!
