What can i do to fix a phone if it has had water damage, myself...?

....i wanted to know, for just any phone in general, if you can ressurect it, having suffered water damage...

A cell phone?

If a cell phone falls in water, immediately take the battery off the back of the phone. Set the phone out on a table/counter in the sun and let it dry for several days.  Once it's dried out, put the battery back on.

Once the phone falls in water -- do not try to power it up. The phone may power itself back up so you have to be quick to get the battery off. If the phone powers back up it will fry and and can not be fixed.
