  1. mmm.

work on your arms and your core.

    just a tip.

doing beach volleyball will mess up your jump.

    but yep.

    as for diets...

    just eat healthy..ish.

don't do soda all that jazz.

    but playing against a wall.

    amazing.

    it helps so much.

  2. Easy, play a tonne of beach volleyball in the summer and when you hit the indoor court you'll feel like your jumping out of the gym.  Not to mention the incredible workout you get by playing.  Plus your playing ball which means more touches.  you keep your hands on a volleyball getting in shape, a no lose situation.

    good luck

  3. Run and then run some more. Also Yoga helps.

  4. what u should do is practice playing volleyball until the season starts. it helps when u do more.also if u already know how to play and all u need to do is get in shape.then just work out.i hope it works out for u.

  5. To get into awesome shape for Volleyball:

    1.  Practice your Volleyball serves; both overhand and underhand.

    2.  Practice your bump set.

    3.  Practice your footwork.

    4.  Practice your jumping and overhand spikes.

  6. I've played volleyball for five years now and from what I know you use your arms A LOT.So lift weights ,but don't over do it.Also yoga helps a lot too. It stretches your muscles and makes a lot more flexible ,that can also help you jump higher.Volleyball is not much of a running sport so you don't necessarily need to run a lot ,but running will help build up your lungs, and leg muscles.I'm the setter on my team and the setter usually does all the running to get the ball and set it up for the spikers, so if your planning on being a setter running will help you a ton.For your diet I would eat A variety of things like vegetables, meats, dairy, and fruits stuff that keeps your body going and won't slow you down.

Hope this stuff helps. Good luck at try outs!

  7. You need to get up your stamina being as that is a pretty fast paced sport.

Try using a jump rope for about two minutes and then taking a one minute break and doing another two minutes on the jump rope, another one minute break .... That should help a lot. Running is also good, if you like to do stuff like that.

Also you should do push-ups and sit-ups and crunches.

Do it slowly though, you don't want to hurt yourself. Trust me, it is way to easy to do to much the first day and hurt like crazy for a week after . . . . :D

As for the diet, try to cut down on the sugar, but not too much. You want to be well balanced in what you eat, else it will just hurt you. Follow the food pyramid, it will help you figure out what you need to stay healthy.

    Enjoy your workout!

  8. run around your neighborhood. do push ups and sit ups at home. wall sits will help prepare your legs. eat lots of fruits , avoid junk food, drink lots of water. practice basic control pass to yourself and set to yourself at home. even better would be to get someone to practice with you. it should help you :D

  9. Plyometrics for volleyball are awesome check out plyocity.com for some in your area. They do plyos fast paced so you get cardio with it.

  10. i'm on the volleyball team and here is my coaches advice:  don't run so much. it helps you get in shape and keeps ur endurance up i guess, but it works different muscles then you'll use in vball. i suggest u look up types of jumping excersises and really keep ur leg and arm muscles strong (really pump that iron! lol) . legs for jumping and arms for having a mean serve, spike, and drive!! do a lot of ab work too. not sure why but we do a lot of it in my volleyball practices. also use ur volleyball the whole summer. it'll improve ur bumping skills and hand eye coordination. u should work on dives too.
