  1. Try California Baby Diaper Area Wash. It is a spray that you can by to cleanse the diaper area. Works like a charm on my son's diaper rash. It is great for cuts and scrapes too.

Remember not to use wipes if it is a bad rash. Use a warm wash cloth. Also try letting him lay on a towel without a diaper several times a day to air out his bottom.

Warm water "sits" baths work well too.

    Good Luck!

  2. Give him some time on his tummy without a diaper on to let the air get to his bottom - try some talcum powder to keep it dry and when he is in a diaper, change him as soon as it's wet.

  3. we just got over the nastiest rash ever..

1st- don't use wipes they burn, use a damp paper towel.

2nd- let the hiney dry and then apply a thin coat of desitin or anything with zinc in it

3rd- glob on vaseline, it is the best barrier

    4th- change often...

    hope this helps..

  4. Best way is just to leave the diaper off as long as possible and let it air dry

  5. Some suggestions.

Don't use wipes, especially if the poopoo is stuck on. use a warm wash cloth.

make sure his/her bottom is completely dry before putting on any cream. We use a blowdryer on cool sometimes. or just let them go without diapers for a few minutes.

    change them often

If it's still really bad after a week, you should get baby seen. Could be worse than you think.

  6. Triple Paste Cream has worked well for my baby.

The rash may be a yeast infection.  You can get a prescription cream for it (Nystatin or Vusion) or use OTC monistat.

  7. CORN STARCH....if you dont have any, most babypowders have cornstarch in them.

I never used creams on my kids, just cornstarch or babypowder and it heals the worst rashes in as little as a few hours sometimes...

  8. My 8 month old have HORRIBLE Diaper Rash, the doctor even thought so.  She was able to prescribe a cream called Riley's Butt Cream (it was developed by a Doctor at Riley's Children Hospital) and that worked wonderfully!  We also discoverd randomly that he was allergic/sensitive to his diapers.  We had been using Huggies and the diaper rash was bad and we had tried everything.  Someone had made me a diaper cake out of store brand walmart diapers while we were trying the Riley's cream and the diaper rash disappeared!  YEAH!  Then we were out of the Walmart diapers (they leaked on us) and went back to the trusted Huggies and using the Riley's cream and then here comes the diaper rash back even worse!  So long behold there are products on the diapers (they are on the majority of the diapers minus a few store brands that leaked when we tried).  We had just bought a big thing of Huggies which is expensive and I wasn't going to waste that money so we started to put panty liners in the bottom of the diapers.  This worked perfectly!!!!  NO MORE DIAPER RASH.  Anytime he poops we put on Aquafor and if he has pooped a lot then we will use the Riley's cream.  We used the liners until he started solid food and then we didn't need the liners anymore because his p**p had form and wasn't liquid.  Hope this helps!

  9. Breastmilk works on any rash.

First of all, you have to find out what kind of rash is it.  Irritation from wipes?  From the diaper?  Irriation from something he/you ate?  Yeast?  Different rashes need different treatments.

Try tea tree oil mixed with a bit of water, and dab it on.

For a yeast rash that isn't oozing, you can use vaginal yeast creams, and if desparate, even foot creams for athlete's foot (small amount!).  If it's at the oozing/bleeding stage, you can get a prescription cream.  If you're nursing, you'll have to follow the other protocols for yeast infection too.  If he's eating solids, and is less than a year, stop, until it heals.  Breastmilk/formula is all the nutrition they need anyway.

Don't use cornstarch if you suspect a yeast rash; the yeast will love it!

But for a rash of an unknown origin, try the tea tree oil and naked time.
